阅读下列短文,从每题所给的四个选项(A、B、C和D)中,选出最佳选项。
A
If you're like me,you gave up on big, ambitious New Year's resolutions years ago.Great promises for complete changes set me up for failure one too many times. This year, why not take a more measured approach to a happier, healthier you? From your office to your bedroom to your car, these small changes can have a big impact on your life.
Wake up ten minutes earlier. When you start your morning in a crazy spirit, you set a stressful tone for the day.Even ten extra minutes in the morning can help you feel more calm, collected, and ready to face the day.
Spend five minutes in silence or meditation(沉思).You'll soon realize, whether it's in the morning or evening, that five minutes of sitting quietly with your eyes closed feels a lot longer than five minutes. But just this short rest can develop a tranquility(宁静) that carries through the day. When things go off the rails, simply close your eyes and recall that earlier tranquility.
________ Life is never long enough to say this as many times as it should be said.Whether your mother,a friend,a significant other,or your dog, make it a habit to tell someone at least once a day that you love him or her. While it may feel strange at first, you will never regret it.
Turn out the lights.Taking just two minutes to switch off your lights and electronics when you're going to be away from home can save you hundreds of dollars a year on your electricity bill.Plus,it's earth friendly.Everybody wins.
Stand (or sit) up straight.Good posture prevents back and neck pain and projects—and even boosts—confidence. One trick when driving: tilt your rearview mirror up a bit. You'll have to sit up to see.At your desk, the top of your computer screen should be at eye level.Put a small cushion in the curve of your lower back, and your spine will fall into alignment(直线).

The iPhone 6S may get Force Touch, but Huawei's phone can weigh an orange...or an apple.
One of the most anticipated new features of the next iPhone is “Force Touch”,the ability to press down hard on your screen to unlock new menu options.
But Chinese smartphone giant Huawei did one better on this week:It unveiled a new phone that can weigh objects directly on the screen.
At the international radio exhibition in Berlin, known as IFA,Huawei demonstrated how its new Mate S smartphone could weigh an orange.
It's not clear how accurate the scale is.The Mate S said the orange weighed 280 grams,or 10 ounces, which is a super-heavy piece of fruit.
Huawei also didn't say what the phone's weight limits are.(You probably can't step on it every morning in your bathroom.) Also, the utility isn't immediately obvious. How often do you need to weigh small objects on the go?
But the technology is cool and intriguing nonetheless.
Force Touch is a clever way at maximizing real estate on a small screen, such as a smartphone or smartwatch. It allows app makers to hide menu options in the background, only displaying them when someone pushes down hard enough on the screen.
For instance, the Mate S allows people to zoom in on their screens, preview photos or make special moves in games using Force Touch.
Apple debuted Force Touch on the Apple Watch earlier this year, giving apps the ability to display fullscreen images without wasting precious space with gear or “hamburger” icons for settings.
Apple (AAPL,Tech30) hasn't commented on what Force Touch might be used for on the new iPhone 6S (or whatever it will be called). It's unlikely that Tim Cook will weigh an apple on stage using an iPhone 6S,but you never know.

The New Caledonia Barrier Reef (新喀里多尼亚堡礁)is located in New Caledonia in the South Pacific, and is the second-longest coral reef in the world, after Australia's Great Barrier Reef.
The New Caledonia Barrier reef surrounds Grand Terre,New Caledonia's largest island,as well as the Ile des Pins and several smaller islands, reaching a length of 1,500 km.The reef encloses(围住) in a lake of 24,000 square kilometers, which has an average depth of 25 meters. The reefs lie up to 30 kilometers from the shore, but extend almost 200 km to the Entrecasteaux reefs in the northwest. This northwestern extension encloses the Belep Islands.Several natural passages open out to the ocean. The Boulari passage, which leads to Noumea, the capital and chief port of New Caledonia,is marked by the Amedee lighthouse.
The reef has great species diversity with a high level of endemism(动植物的特有分布),and is home to endangered dugongs,a kind of sea animal, and is an important nesting site for Green Sea Turtle.
Most of the reefs are generally thought to be in good health. Some of the eastern reefs have been damaged by wastewater from nickel mining(镍开采)on Grand Terre. The waste from mining, agriculture, and grazing(放牧) has affected reefs near river mouths, which has been worsened by the destruction of mangrove forests, which help to keep wastes. Some reefs have been buried under several meters of wastes.

Michael and I did not know when the waiter put the plates on our table. At the time we were sitting in a small restaurant, hidden from the busy Third Street,in New York City.Even the smell of fresh serving blintze did not interfered our conversation. In fact,we let the blintze soaked in the sour cream. We just enjoy the conversation too much that we forgot to eat.Our conversation was so delightful though we did not speak about important things. We laughed and spoke about the film which we have just watched.
While our fun conversation continued,my eyes went across the room and stop on the corner.A couple of old folks sat in there. The woman wearing the flower dress with faded color, the same with the pillow where she laid her pallid handbag. The man's top head shined just like the boiled egg which he ate very slowly. The woman chewed her oatmeal(燕麦片) very slowly too, seemed with very much effort.
But what made my mind thought about them was the silence around them.Michael and I paid our food and went on.When we passed the corner where the couple sat,my wallet fell. When I stopped to get it,I saw, under the table, they were tenderly holding each other's hand. They were eating in silence while holding each other's hand! I was very touched to see the simple yet the very meaningful action reflecting the close relationship of the couple.
Their silence was the pleasant and relaxing one,it was the expression of the tender love and it did not always need the words to express it.They might spend the hours holding each other's hand like this in the morning.
When I and Michael went out of the restaurant,I thought, maybe it was nothing bad at all if some day we have something like that.Maybe,it will become the expression of the tender and complete love.

Dear classmates,
We each are thinking about the future. What is mine? I've made my mind to become a middle school teacher.Does it sound like surprising? I began to have this dream when I am only a child.I love children.I didn't think that it is just a waste of time to deal with them all the years round. On the contrary,to me it would mean happy. As we all can see, teachers are badly needed in our country, but not many of us want to become teacher. The main reason why this is that teachers' work is too hard or they get too little. In spite of that,I'm determined to giving all my life to the cause of education.

Dear__Editor,
I'm__writing__to__tell__you__about the discussion we've had about the good points and bad points of having only one child.
With only one child, parents can pay more attention to him or her.The cost of the family is much less. And the children can live a better life.
However,as an old saying goes,a coin has two sides.Having only one child also has its disadvantages.Parents will spoil the children easily. They will feel lonely sometimes, and greatly depend on their parents. They don't know how to solve the problems they meet. They may not know how to get along with other children.
Best wishes!
Yours,
Li__Hua
